Travel report: I needed to get from Marrakech to Cape Town, and I wanted to fly business class. I decided to spend a couple of days in Istanbul (?ó?é¼?ôon my way?ó?é¼?¥ ?????ñ?ú) and ended up with a 24 hour layover in Paris as well.
2 nights in the Park Hyatt Istanbul: I used my annual free night from the Chase Hyatt card, and paid 180 euro cash for the second night. The room was giant and had a personal sauna in the room! They graciously allowed me to check in at 7am after coming off a red eye. The guest experience manager outdid herself by sending Turkish delight up to my room, and greeting me by name before ever having met me.
1 night in the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome: I used 30,000 Hyatt points (23k Hyatt points + 7k transferred from Chase). I have lowly Discoverist status, but upon arrival, I was upgraded to the Ambassador Suite. It?ó?é¼?äós literally the nicest (and biggest) hotel room I?ó?é¼?äóve ever stayed in and came with its own wine fridge full of Dom Perignon. Service has been excellent all around and the suite is stunning.
Flights were all Air France business class. RAK-IST and IST-CDG were faux business class (economy seats with some perks), but service was excellent. CDG-CPT was in the 777.
RAK-IST and IST-CDG were 25k Delta points each, and CDG-CPT was 85k Delta points. All business class.
